Here is a new word I read today for the first time, “COVIDIOT.” The Urban Dictionary defines a covidiot as “Someone who ignores the warnings regarding public health or safety. A person who hoards goods, denying them from their neighbors.”  That not-so-nice word is just one of many we are using every day during this COVID19 Pandemic.  Today we got dire warnings from the President and our top infectious disease doctor. My advice is to remember what Gandalf said to Frodo.

An executive order from the governor has ordered 40 million Californians to Stay-At-Home. Governor Gavin Newsom issued the decision on Thursday, March 19, 2020. Now, many are wondering what exactly does "Stay-at-Home" order mean? Are we prisoners in our homes? If we go out to grab a burger will we be in "trouble?" I spoke with retired police chief Dan Davis and his down-to-earth answers made me feel so much better. I hope my One-On-One interview with Dan helps you. 

There is a saying that I love from an old Bette Midler movie. It’s about a set of twins who were switched at birth. One set was the Bette Midler character, the other set was Lilly Tomlin. The Movie was called Big Business. At one point the level-headed, business-oriented Thomlin character says, “Lord, my load is heavy.” I use that phrase often. I like it. I’m using it now. Because the podcast and video I produced about the COVID19 virus included incorrect information. It was wrong. Basically, all the facts I quoted from Stanford Hospital did not come from Stanford Hospital. I’m here to correct that information. My load may be heavy, but I’m still a reporter at heart and I was to set the record straight.

Why would somebody create a factually incorrect post? Then share it. I know, as a former reporter to always get two sources of information. In my defense, I did go to the Stanford Hospital website and look for the source of the incorrect info. I could not find the source. That was my red flag. I should not have posted the info. I have pulled the video and the podcast, I apologize for passing along a "Scam" In the future, I will ALWAYS USE TWO SOURCES!
